Retail Certificate III

This course combines Certificate II & III in Retail. You will learn how to communicate effectively with colleagues andcustomers, apply safe work practices and perform stock control and point-of-sale procedures. You will also learn how tomaintain store safety and security and build relationships with colleagues and customers. You will also learn how to minimisetheft, operate retail technology and organise and maintain work areas. You will be able to choose from a range of electivesincluding the areas of business management, sales and product knowledge.

Employees suited to this course

Certificate III in Retail is designed for people for people who want to work in the retail sales and services environment andwant to progress through junior level operations and/or supervision. Course Delivery

This course is delivered on site at the workplace. Training and assessments are conducted by a qualified trainer who holdsgroup sessions and can also have one on one contact with participants. Learning strategies include a combination ofclassroom style training, on the job training, written activities, research and workplace projects. While assessments areconducted through direct observation, written and verbal questioning, role play and simulation, workplace projects andsupervisors reports. We recognise Certificates & Statements of Attainments issued by other RTO’s. The course timeframe isto be completed within 12months (full time).

Qualification

Once competency is achieved in all 10 units, the qualification of SIR20207 Certificate III in Retail Services is awarded and acertificate and a statement of attainment are issued.

A range of positions in retail sales, customer service and administration progressing to sales assistant, customer servicerepresentation, crew leader, shift manager, team leader, department or assistance store manager, checkout supervisor andmerchandise coordinator.
